Once the recovery is approved, the original storage is protected and the safest available recovery method is selected based on the device, failure type, storage technology, encryption, and physical condition.
Depending on the case, recovery can involve specialized diagnostics, mechanical or electronic repair, firmware work, sector-level imaging, flash-memory access, RAID reconstruction, file-system analysis, virtual-disk reconstruction, or other specialized recovery methods.
